Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Clipperly handles personal information for shop owners, staff, and customers under New Zealand privacy law.

Who is responsible

Clipperly provides booking and shop-management software. For information a shop collects about its customers and staff, that shop is generally the agency deciding why the information is used, while Clipperly processes it to provide the service. Clipperly is responsible for account, billing, support, security, and website information it collects for its own purposes.

Information we collect

  • • Account and contact details, shop memberships, roles, and profile information.
  • • Booking details, service selections, customer notes, attendance history, and communications.
  • • Subscription and appointment-payment metadata. Card details are entered directly into Stripe and are not stored by Clipperly.
  • • Device, security, diagnostic, push-notification, cookie, and analytics information.
  • • Messages submitted through contact or support forms.

How we use information

  • • Provide bookings, reminders, shop operations, mobile access, receipts, and support.
  • • Authenticate users, prevent fraud and abuse, protect accounts, and diagnose faults.
  • • Process subscriptions, deposits, refunds, disputes, tax, and accounting records.
  • • Improve Clipperly and measure website performance where analytics is enabled.
  • • Meet legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

When information is shared

We share information only where needed with the relevant shop and authorised staff, with service providers such as Stripe, hosting/storage providers, Mailgun, Google/Firebase, Cloudflare, and analytics providers, or where required by law. Some providers may process information outside New Zealand. We use contractual and technical safeguards appropriate to the service. We do not sell personal information.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to or correction of personal information held by Clipperly. Customers should normally contact the shop first about booking notes or shop-held customer records. You can delete your mobile account from Account → Privacy and account → Delete account. Certain de-identified booking, payment, tax, fraud, or dispute records may be retained as explained in our Data Retention Policy.

Security and privacy incidents

We use access controls, encrypted connections, tenant separation, audit records, and restricted payment handling. No system is risk-free. If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner where required.
